ASQA’s Decision—initial registration with ASQA
ASQA decides if your organisation complies with the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework. If the application does not comply, you have 20 working days to provide additional or amended evidence to demonstrate compliance. ASQA analyses this additional evidence before approving or rejecting the application.
If your application is approved
If your application is approved, ASQA will issue you with:- a certificate of registration
- a letter that outlines registration obligations and describes the qualifications and/or units of competency—known as the ‘scope of registration’—that your organisation is registered to deliver.
- details of the period for which your organisation is registered, and
- details of any conditions which apply to the registration.
If your application is rejected
If ASQA rejects an application for registration, it will state the reasons for its decision. Under Sections 199 to 203 of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011, you can apply for review of this decision. If you are not satisfied with a decision made by ASQA, you have a number of options:- You may choose to review the reasons for the decision, and submit a new application.
- You may apply to ASQA to reconsider its decision.
- You may apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
